Our Yurts

Our yurts are handmade in Mongolia using traditional skills and materials. They are lined with sheep-wool felt lashed together with horse hair ropes. Two of the yurts “Ash” and “Willow”are roughly 16ft in diameter and are perfect for couples though they can sleep up to four which also makes them a great space for small families. The larger yurt at 19ft diameter can sleep up to six. Each yurt is set on a raised wooden platform and heated by a woodburner which makes them extremely warm throughout. Perfect for year-round yurt camping holidays. Inside, the yurts have wooden double day-beds for sleeping/lounging. Each bed has been hand made for us out of Ash and Beech by local craftsman Nick Over. The yurts are decorated with rugs, coloured wall hangings and scatter cushions, making the inside of each yurt a beautiful space to relax and unwind. Lighting in the yurts is provided by tea light lanterns and solar fairy lights for a relaxing atmosphere.

Outside, each yurt has its own camp fire-pit, bench seating, picnic table and cast iron BBQ. Wheelbarrows and bags are provided for collecting your wood from the woodshed and all your kindling, firewood, tealights/candles and firelighters are offered at no additional cost.

Our Facilities
At the bottom of the yurt field is a very eco compost toilet, don’t be scared it’s not that different to a normal loo, just without the flushing! The kitchen and shower facilities are situated in a separate area a few metres from the yurt field. The cabin kitchen has a covered veranda with a large refrectory table and benches for dining. It is fully equipped with all the cooking equipment, crockery and glasses you should need including a gas cooker, fridge, freezer and kitchen sink.  The shower is close by and is fully heated it also includes a heated towel rail and hairdryer.
