Our Yurts
Our yurts are handmade in Mongolia and are full of rustic charm. Two of the yurts are roughly 16ft in diameter and sleep 2-4 adults and the larger yurt at 19ft diameter can sleep up to 6 adults. Each yurt is lined with thick felt and is set on a wooden platform. They are each heated by a woodburner which makes them extremely warm while the felt holds in the heat. Inside they are decorated with coloured rugs and wall hangings, ethnic scatter cushions and futon bedding, making the inside of each yurt a beautiful space to relax and unwind. Lighting in the yurts is provided by tea light lanterns and solar fairy lights and is kept quite low level for a more relaxing atmosphere, you may therefore wish to bring extra battery powered lanterns during the winter months or for reading.
Outside, each yurt has its own fire-pit, bench seating, picnic table and cast iron BBQ, all of which can be moved around the field so larger groups can sit together.
The larger yurt is positioned at the top of the field and has wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. Mid-way down the field is the first smaller yurt and the third yurt is located at the lower end of the field giving easy access to the woodshed and facilities.
A wheelbarrow and bags are provided for collecting your wood from the woodshed and all your kindling, firewood, tealights/candles and firelighters are offered at no additional cost.
Our Facilities
At the bottom of the yurt field is a very eco compost toilet, don't be scared it's not that different to a normal loo, just without the flushing!
The kitchen and shower facilities are situated in a separate area a few metres from the yurt field. The cabin kitchen is fully equipped with all the cooking equipment, crockery and glasses you should need including a gas cooker, fridge and kitchen sink. The shower is close by and is fully heated it also includes a heated towel rail and hairdryer. Please scroll to the last pictures on the gallery page for pictures of the facilities.
